Introduction:
The
demand for greases is
max. in developed countries
where high level of
automation are employed.
This demand can be directly
linked to the engineering
strength of country
and its oil resources.
At many a times it also
depends on the awareness
of the end users. Grease
is mainly used to reduce
friction and increase
the life of all moving
and rotating metal parts.
Uses:
Grease
is used widely
by the Shipping Industry,
Machinery, Automotive
Industries, Steel Plants,
etc.
Brief
Process
A part
of Lubricants oil is
charged to the saponifaction
kettle along with fats
plus fatty acids, alkalies
like Lithium hydroxide.
The batch of these raw
material is heated in
a saponifaction kettle
under constant strirring
till the reaction is
completed which is judge
by testing the sample.
After the reaction is
completed balance lubricating
oil is added and the
mass transfered to a
cooling kettle. Cooling
is carried out in a
cooling kettle under
constant stirring and
cool water circulating.
After the product is
cooled to a required
temperature the grease
is pumped to a milling
machine and deareating
system which mills
the product to alternately
packed in 1,2,5 or 10
Ltr. packs.
